Sowing Dreams, Harvesting Resilience

His farm is more than land—it’s a legacy.

A testament to the strength of immigrants, the power of hard work, and the unbreakable bond between a father and daughter. And as the sun sets over the acres he’s nurtured, Frank Daniel knows that every seed planted is a promise of something greater.

Resilience. Growth. Community. This is more than just a farm—it’s home.

Frank Daniel’s love for the land started long before he ever set foot in the United States. As a young boy in El Salvador, he found joy in the rich soil, learning from his elders the patience and care it took to grow food. But life had different plans. When he moved to Washington, D.C., he left the fields behind, embracing the fast pace of city life as a Metro bus operator. He loved the job—not just for the steady work but for the people. Every day, he met riders from all walks of life, sharing stories and smiles along his route.

At 65, retirement came knocking, but Frank Daniel knew his journey wasn’t over. With a heart still longing for open fields, he set his sights on Federalsburg, MD, where he bought acres of land to build his dream—his very own farm. But starting over wasn’t easy. The land needed work, the crops needed care, and the challenges of minority farm ownership were many. Yet, resilience ran in his veins. Brick by brick, row by row, he built something lasting.

By his side was his daughter, Carolina, a young Latina with the same fire for community and culture. She grew up watching her father work tirelessly, and now, she helps him share their story—one that speaks of perseverance, tradition, and growth. Together, they cultivate more than just crops; they cultivate knowledge, teaching others about farming and the importance of fresh, locally grown produce.

Frank Daniel dreams of a farm bustling with life—horses trotting in the fields, chickens pecking in the yard, families visiting to learn about sustainable farming. He envisions a place where people come not just to buy produce, but to connect, learn, and be inspired.
